What is Zuba Central and How Does it Work?

Zuba Central is a member of the Zuba, Mitsubishi Cold Climate Heat Pumps. Like other types of heat pumps, it moves heat energy between inside and outside by employing a refrigerant, which cycles through a closed loop of refrigerant lines between an outdoor and indoor unit.

In heating mode, refrigerant takes heat from outside and uses it to heat up your home, even in harsh winters of southern Ontario. In cooling mode, the heat pump acts like an air conditioner, extracting heat from inside and releasing it outside to cool your home.

Canadians worry when transitioning from traditional heating systems to heat pumps due to the fact that, when temperatures fall below 0°C, heat pumps become less effective and require an alternate heating source such as a gas furnace for cold days of Canadian winter.

What differs Mitsubishi Zuba Central from regular heat pumps is Mitsubishi Electric’s H2i Technology patent and exclusive technology, which utilizes a flash injection process to retain high suction and discharge pressures, enabling it to operate at higher performance levels even at -30°C and colder climates.

What are The Benefits of Zuba Central?

Zuba Central is a member of the Zuba, Mitsubishi Cold Climate Heat Pumps. Like other types of heat pumps, it moves heat energy between inside and outside by employing a refrigerant, which cycles through a closed loop of refrigerant lines between an outdoor and indoor unit.

Small Footprint, Huge Improvement

The Zuba outdoor unit is incredibly space-efficient, measuring only 13 inches (33 cm) deep. Its small size allows it to be easily installed on your outside wall, saving more space than conventional air conditioning systems. The indoor Air Handling Unit is even more discreet, fitting within your existing ductwork and creating a truly unobtrusive setup. This tiny footprint delivers massive improvements in efficiency and convenience in heating and cooling your home, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable, climate-controlled environment without compromising your outdoor space.

Not Much Louder than a Light Rain

Your Zuba system is working tirelessly to ensure a comfortable living environment in your home but they work so quietly that you may not even realize it. Mitsubishi Electric’s advanced technology ensures that the units are extremely quiet, so they operate without disruption.

The system is designed to maintain a steady temperature and provide a consistent level of comfort throughout your home. with Zuba, you can trust that your home is being taken care of and that your comfort is always at the forefront.

Environment Friendly & Energy Efficient

Zuba Central is fitted with VCSI (Variable Compressor Speed Inverter) technology, which can vary speed according to demand. Rather than completely turning off, it operates at partial load for better efficiency and lower energy use. So you only use what’s necessary to keep your desired home temperature.

The Zuba system utilizes ozone-friendly R-410A refrigerant, which is more efficient and has a lower global warming potential than other commonly used refrigerants such as R-22. This helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, creating a healthier environment.

Additionally, the use of R-410A allows for improved performance compared to traditional R-22 based systems. It has a higher heating and cooling capacity and a higher pressure-temperature relationship than R-22, resulting in more effective operation. Furthermore, it has a lower pressure drop, allowing for a more efficient compressor operation and improved energy efficiency.

With these benefits, the Zuba system provides a more environmentally conscious and cost-effective solution for cooling needs.

A Great Alternative for Geothermal Heat Pumps

While geothermal heat pump systems make the most of energy efficiency, the costs of installation can act as the main drawback. Geothermal installation will certainly require some excavation, digging trenches for piping and site surveying.

Zuba offers a cost-effective and efficient energy solution, making it a great alternative to more expensive geothermal systems. With Zuba, you can experience the benefits of more efficient energy use in a much shorter timeframe, as the installation process is much quicker compared to geothermal systems. This means you can start saving on energy costs almost immediately, without having to wait for a lengthy installation process.

Eligible for Energy Rebates

Heating homes in Canadian winters require lots of energy; heating alone uses up to 60% of the average household’s energy consumption according to Natural Resources Canada. Upgrade from conventional HVAC systems to an efficient heat pump, like Mitsubishi Zuba, to save on energy bills and reduce environmental impact with possible government rebates of up to $6,500. Ask us for more information on energy rebates.

Excellent Warranty

A standard warranty of five years for parts and seven years for the compressor is offered with Zuba systems. Customers who have their installation done by a Mitsubishi Electric authorized HVAC professional, such as one of our Mitsubishi certified technicians, are given an extra 10-year guarantee on the parts and compressor.

How Much Does Mitsubishi Zuba Central Cost?

The cost of a Zuba Central Hyper Heat Pump with installation can vary significantly depending on which model you select. Factors such as the size of the unit, its heating and cooling capacity, and other optional equipment, such as an auxiliary electric resistance heater, all play a role in determining the total cost. On average, the cost of a Mitsubishi Zuba Central Hyper Heat Pump with installation ranges from about $16,000 to $20,000.
